We were all absolutely devastated to hear last year that Carey Lander, keyboardist with Camera Obscura, passed away after her long and brave battle against sarcoma cancer. Camera Obscura played at Indietracks twice, and are much-loved by both our organising team and also lots of our audience who come back to the festival every year.
Before she passed away, Carey did an amazing job of raising money for Sarcoma UK, a charity which raises awareness of and funds ground-breaking research into the disease. Carey has already raised more than £100,000 for the charity, and this year at Indietracks we’re hoping to add to that total.
There will be collection boxes across our site, including one in our merch tent, where in return for a donation you’ll get a free lucky dip prize kindly donated by our bands and volunteers.
If you can’t make it to Indietracks this year, then do please donate to Sarcoma UK anyway if you can. Please donate at https://sarcoma.org.uk/get-involved/donate and write Carey’s name in your message – this will make sure all contributions are added to Carey’s campaign.
Look forward to seeing you all at the weekend!
